Do you offer airport transfers and other transport arrangements?
Yes we can arrange transportation both to and from the airport as well as to other locations within Sri Lanka.
We use a local villager for our transportation requests in an attempt to help supplement and enrich their livelihood at the same time.
We also offer the option of paying directly to the driver in local currency as welll as having the charges added to the hotel bill, as we believe in transparency.
What is the policy on tiping?
Tiping is entirely at your discretion as is tiping individually,
We do however have a tip box by the reception, which would be used to distribute tips company wide to ensure that non guest facing staff members are also rewarded for their work
We discourage our employees from asking or suggesting for tips directly and recomend that it is brought to our attention if you face any instances of this nature.
Do you need to carry local currency or can we only use our credit or debit cards?
Most restraurant, cafes, shops and supermarkets have the option of making payments via credit or debit cards.
It is however recomended to have some local currency on hand as most of the smaller vendors and rural purveyors along with most public transportation only acccept cash
How many persons can a villa accommodate?
Each villa is ideally suited for two guests and consists of a double bed.
A third guest could be accomodated through the converstion of either the large sofa (available in six of the villas) or by converting the morrocan style floor matresses (available in eight of the villas) into the third persons sleeping arrangement.
What is the child policy?
To preserve the serene atmosphere our guests cherish, Malabar Hill welcomes children aged 12 and above for overnight stays and day visits. This guideline also reflects the unique topography of our hilltop location, where steep slopes and infinity edges require thoughtful safety considerations.
For dining experiences, we gladly make an exception for younger children, with the understanding that they will be supervised at all times and that the tranquillity of fellow guests will be respected.
